About Us

Stoddard Road Physiotherapy was built with a clear vision: to provide accessible, high quality treatment to the wider community. We strongly believe in assessing the root cause of every injury, which enables us to devise a comprehensive rehabilitation plan that is individually tailored to your specific goals and needs. Our physicians adopt a “hands-on” patient-focused approach which means we work together with you to achieve the results you want. First we help you. Then, we teach you how to help yourself!

At Stoddard Road Physiotherapy, our intention is to educate and help you recover completely. Our clients can expect plenty of advice and useful tips to facilitate recovery, and more importantly, prevent further injury. Once you recuperate, we aim to provide you with stretches and exercises that can be easily done at home or in the gym to maintain and improve your function.

Located within an established and highly reputable medical centre, Stoddard Road Physiotherapy has a strong team of medical professionals behind us to liaise with and ensure our every client receives the optimal management they deserve. We also communicate with your own GP, and can refer you to our network of elite specialists should you need.

Hamza Farah

BHSc (Physiotherapy), PGCert Western Acupuncture, MNZSP

Hamza grew up in Mount Roskill and he endeavours to help all individuals within the community to overcome their injuries and achieve their goals. Hamza graduated from AUT with a Bachelor of Health Science [Physiotherapy].

Hamza has also completed postgraduate studies in western acupuncture and currently utilises western acupuncture as a treatment modality to reduce pain. Hamza has a significant interest in rehabilitation of various musculoskeletal conditions particularly spinal rehabilitation and sporting injuries. Hamza enjoys playing basketball and going to the gym regularly to keep healthy.

Naythan de Melo

Director, Senior Physiotherapist

BHSc (Physiotherapy), MNZSP

Naythan graduated from AUT in 2011 with a keen interest in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and functional rehabilitation. He has gained invaluable experience travelling/working with elite athletes in local and national sports teams.

Locally, Naythan has been the club Physio at Mt Albert Ponsonby FC for the past 10 years, and thoroughly enjoys his role with the first team. He is also actively involved in the One World Futsal Leagues around Auckland. Nationally, Naythan has spent a season working with Auckland City FC, as well as being Head Physiotherapist for Team Wellington FC and Tahiti's AS Tefana at the annual FIFA OFC Champions League Tournaments.

Naythan is always looking to further develop his physiotherapy skills, often using pain management techniques such as dry needling, manual therapy, taping, and joint mobilizations to provide his patients with the best possible outcome for their treatment.

Naythan will often access the latest international injury screening tools and resources to help identify muscle imbalances and functional asymmetries in his clients. He is community focused and enjoys working with a general client base of all ages.

In his spare time Naythan plays futsal, keeps fit, and spends time with his young family and friends.
