Injury prevention is a hugely important aspect of Physiotherapy that often lacks the attention we feel it deserves. While clients are happy to return to full function, our clinicians feel that only half our job is done. We pride ourselves on providing plenty of advice around strategies to prevent future overload or injury to the body.
This involves assessing the whole kinetic chain and gathering information on a client’s day to day tasks. Somewhere in their day, there is an overload on certain structures and eventually when this imbalance proves too much for the body, it sends pain which can lead to injury.
Having a basic understanding of these processes in the body enables each client to look after themselves better and this in turn prevents further injury.
